MEET VANESSA VILLEGAS

For Vanessa exquisite taste in cuisine and design runs through her heritage. Born into a family of chefs, restaurateurs and caterers, she employs a unique level of ‘sazón’ in all her creations. For over 20 years her attention to detail and exquisite taste has made her an accomplished and recognized Mexican event designer, planner and florist.

Since 2015, Vanessa has called San Miguel de Allende home and is co-owner of the award winning ZUMO Rooftop and Villa Limón Boutique Hotel. She has a masters degree in Interior Design from Domus Academy in Milan, Italy, and studied architecture at the University of Guadalajara, Vanessa has completely redesigned this Spanish Revival building in historic centro, now home to Zumo Rooftop and Villa Limón. Both the restaurant/event space and hotel feature Vanessa’s iconic vision which blends classic motifs with a modern twist that showcases her relaxed, elegant signature design.

Vanessa is not only bilingual, but having grown up with dual citizenship (Mexican and U.S.) she is completely bicultural and easily navigates the nuances of social engagements and business relationships on both sides of the border.

MEET STEWART HAVERLACK

Stewart is a one of a kind, charismatic personality and Bon Vivant. The consummate host, with more than 25 years of experience in catering and events, hotels and restaurants, Stewart has personally catered more than 2,000 seamless events all over the world including over 1,000 weddings.

Stewart has lived in nurmerous international cities and has traveled extensively throughout the world to more than 80 countries. He always maintains a focus on discovering and enjoying amazing food and wine experiences. In the early 1990’s, he opened and operated a successful fine dining restaurant and catering company in Warsaw, Poland. His clients included Embassies, Political Dignitaries, Heads of State, International Executives and luminaries throughout Eastern and Western Europe.

In late 2000, he returned to the U.S. where he was the Senior Vice President of Paula LeDuc Fine Catering in San Francisco, California – one of the top catering companies in the United States. He led a team of 500 part-time and full-time employees, including 80 chefs, executing over 450 high-end events annually for A-List clients.

In 2004, with his insatiable penchant for wanderlust and adventure, Stewart relocated to Puerto Vallarta Mexico. He owned and operated two award winning chef-driven restaurant concepts:  Boca Bento and El Dorado.  One year later in 2005, he launched Puerto Vallarta’s premier catering and event company, Plush Catering & Events. Their focus was on destination weddings for international and domestic clients from the U.S., Canada, Europe and Mexico.  He sold Plush Catering & Events in 2012, which still operates successfully in Puerto Vallarta and the Banderas Bay.

In 2013, Stewart purchased an exquisite Spanish Revival villa in San Miguel de Allende where in early 2015 he opened the original location of the award winning ZUMO Restaurant & ZUMO Events along with his partner, Vanessa Villegas.
